What are the chances of getting a loan modification if a notice of default has already been received?
If a notice of default has been received, a homeowner can still request and may be entitled to a loan modification. And we’re very transparent with all of our clients, loan modifications are never guaranteed. It’s a two-party process.
You have to, or the homeowner has to negotiate with the lender and the lender has to be receptive to those negotiations and ultimately has to agree to the loan modification as well.
But with that said, just because someone has fallen behind, and especially because they’ve fallen behind, they may still qualify for a loan modification.
