Debt Collectors are Calling my Neighbors and Relatives. Is this legal?

A debt collector can call a neighbor or relative for the limited purpose of trying to locate you.

If they’re contacting that third party, the neighbor or relative, and talking about the debtor if they are contacting them in a way that is abusive or harassing, then that’s a problem, and that may be enforceable by debt collection laws.
